Healthcare Assistant roles require B1 level (PTE Academic (Pearson) minimum score of 43), while Registered Nurse roles require a valid OET or IELTS result.
Kindly note that the NMBI application and processing is a long process, which may usually take anywhere from 6 to 12 months. We do not encourage you to leave your current job in Sri Lanka until you receive your NMBI registration PIN…

OET or IELTS language exams are obligatory for NMBI registration for all Sri Lankan candidates who want to apply for a Registered Nurse position in Ireland! Please note that tests must be less than two years old - you also must factor in that the NMBI process usually takes months and the OET exam must still be valid at the final stage of NMBI registration. NMBI accepts results from one test sitting only; combined results are not accepted. Above you may see the minimal requirements.
You don't have a language exam yet, although you prefer to apply to a Registered Nurse role? We recommend taking the OET exam as for nurses it may feel like the more natural option because it is healthcare-specific.
